A teenage boy had to be rescued from a hill on the Isle of Skye after breaking his arm.
Skye’s Mountain Rescue Team were called out to the Cuillin following reports of a 16-year-old boy being injured.
The teenager injured his left arm after a block dislodged while a group of two adults and two children were abseiling.
Posting on social media, the mountain rescue team said: “Things didn’t go as planned for two lifelong climbing pals introducing their teenage sons to the Cuillin.
“A block they were abseiling from dislodged, resulting in one climber’s 16-year-old son suffering a severe broken left arm.”
After the team assessed and treated the teenager, he was assisted off the hill with the rest of the group.
“Many thanks to R948 for deploying the team as close to the incident as possible and for returning to take the casualty off the hill”, it added.
“Special mention to our young casualty for his stoicism in enduring what must have been a very uncomfortable walk off. He didn’t even complain about our jokes.”
