A teenager is in hospital after a two-vehicle crash which closed a road in the Highlands until the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Emergency services were called to the crash, which involved a grey Audi A3 and a blue Volvo Artic, on the A99 near Latheron, at its junction with the A9, at around 5.30pm on Monday, April 10.
Witnesses on social media said they had seen at least two air ambulances at the scene, alongside police and three fire engines.
An 18-year-old man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where his condition is currently unknown.
The road was closed and reopened at around 3.15am on Tuesday morning.
Police are now carrying out enquiries into the cause of the crash and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Sergeant Doug Scott said: “Our enquiries into the cause of this crash are ongoing, and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash and who hasn’t already spoken to officers to get in touch.
“I would also ask anyone with dash-cam footage which may help us to contact us.”
