Six people have been taken to hospital after a two-car crash closed the A87 near Glen Shiel for six hours.

Officers were alerted to the crash that happened on Monday around 7.40pm near the three sisters car park.

The crash involved a red Fiat 500 and a blue Ford S-Max.

Police confirmed that the driver of the Fiat 500 and the driver and four passengers in the Fort S-Max were taken to hospital.

The road was closed for six hours to allow for investigations before it reopened around 2am on Tuesday.

Enquiries into the crash are ongoing and the force is urging anyone with information to come forward.

Sergeant Doug Scott said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact us.

“We also ask anyone driving in the area at the time with dash-cam footage to come forward.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 3550 of Monday, July 29, 2024.”
