Six people have been rushed to hospital and two have been arrested following a crash on the A9.
Emergency services were called to a collision between a car and a recovery vehicle at the road’s Glentruim junction between Ralia and Dalwhinnie at around 6.30pm on Thursday.
Police Scotland said a 52-year-old male driver of the car was arrested and charged over the incident and is due to appear in court at a later date.
The 44-year-old male driver of the recovery vehicle was also arrested over road traffic offences.
The road was closed to allow for recovery and fully reopened around 10.15pm.
Officers said enquiries are ongoing.
A motorcyclist was also taken to hospital in a separate crash on the same road much further north.
That collision happened at the Berriedale Braes at around 11.40pm and only involved one vehicle.
