A motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital and another man was arrested following a serious road crash on the A9 on Saturday morning.
At around 10am on September 30, a crash took place involving a Peugeot 2008 and a Kawasaki motorbike on the A9 at Dunrobin by Golspie.
Emergency services attended and the 49-year-old male rider of the motorbike was taken by air ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment to serious injuries.
A 58-year-old man, the driver of the Peugeot, was uninjured and was arrested in connection with a suspected road traffic offence.
The road was closed in both directions and fully reopened around 5pm.
Sergeant Calum MacAulay said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this crash and appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or has information that may assist to come forward.
“In particular, if you have dashcam footage that could assist with our investigation then please get in touch.”
