Flood warnings have been put in place across Scotland on Monday as Strom Bert continues to batter the country.
The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency has told those living from Ayr to Troon and in Orkney’s Churchill Barrier to expect flooding from the sea due to “high tides and large waves”.
Residents in Strathglass and Moy Bridge have been urged to prepare for agricultural land flooding due to rising river levels. The agency is monitoring the situation and will issue an updated warning if the the rising river levels pose a wider risk.
SEPA has stated the warnings are in place until further notice.
This comes as the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for wind across the west coast, the Highlands, Strathclyde and Tayside from 12am to 10am on Monday.
Forecasters have predicted gusts of 50 to 60mph, with exposed areas being hit by 70mph winds.
The Met Office state that “delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely.”
