Man missing for six days checked out of hotel and did not return home

Search under way for Caithness man who checked out of Inverness Palace Hotel and did not return home Police Scotland

A man from Caithness was reported missing to police on Monday after he checked out of a hotel six days ago and has not returned home.

Leslie Robertson left the Barrack area on Sunday, November 13 to travel to Inverness where he stayed at the Palace Hotel.

The 57-year-old checked out on November 16, but has not returned home or been in touch with friends or family which has been described as “uncharacteristic”.

He may still be in the Inverness area and enquiries are ongoing to trace him.

Officers are continuing to speak to family and friends to discover where he may have gone.

They are also checking relevant CCTV footage for any additional information.

Mr Robertson is described as white, around 5ft 11in in height, with short grey hair.

He usually wears a hooded top and leather jacket.

Sergeant Andy McKay said: “Leslie’s family is upset and worried. They just want to know he is safe and well. If anyone has seen Leslie or has any information as to his whereabouts, please contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0611 of November 21, 2022.
