A search has been launched for an elderly dog with dementia after she went missing in the Trossachs.
The Border Terrier, named Mattie, has poor sight and is quite deaf however, owner Margaret Dawson said she is “physically extremely fit”.
She went missing near the footpath to Meall Glas in the Trossachs on Wednesday around 3.30pm.
Margaret said: “People tend to write her off when they know her age but our vet is always amazed by her fitness and muscle tone.”
It is believed she may have headed towards the Glen Lyon area with those in the area being urged to keep a lookout nearby.
Mattie is chipped with up-to-date contact details and also has a collar with Margaet’s phone number.
She is described as very friendly but may be scared.
In a post, Killin Mountain Rescue Team said: “We would be grateful if anyone is out in the hills around Meall Glas, Glen Dochart area please keep an eye out for a missing elderly dog.”
