A multi-agency search and rescue operation has been launched after a car plunged into a river in the Highlands.
The Coastguard were alerted to the incident in the River Nairn at around 10.30am on Friday morning.
A crew has been sent to sent to the scene south of Nairn along with a search and rescue helicopter.
It is understood that police and fire crews are on the scene. It is not known whether anyone was injured.
Jasper ImagesA spokesperson from the Coastguard said: “HM Coastguard is supporting the response to a report made at about 10.30am on November 14 of a car going into the River Nairn, south of Nairn.
“Nairn Coastguard Rescue Team has been sent, as well as an HM Coastguard search and rescue helicopter.”
Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
