A road in the Highlands will remain closed over the weekend following a landslide near Uig.
The landslip occurred at Indrigill Bend on the A855 around 6pm on Friday evening, blocking access to the A87.
As a result, drivers face a near 40-mile diversion to access Uig, which could add as much as one hour and 20 minutes to journeys.
Highland Council attended the scene on Friday evening and Saturday morning, and engineers said the road would remain closed over the weekend.
The local authority’s road team is working to remove the slipped material while an assesment of repairs required takes place.
A post on the Highland Council’s Facebook page read: “Following this morning’s inspection, the A855 at Idrigill Bend will remain closed over the weekend.
“Our roads team are working to remove the slipped material from the road while an assessment takes place for the necessary repair works.”
