Drivers are facing a diversion of more than 150 miles after a “serious” crash closed the A82.

Emergency services are on the scene of the collision three miles north of the A82’s junction near Invergloy with the A86 at Spean Bridge.

Two ambulances, a critical care team and an air ambulance were sent to the scene.

The crash was reported to police around 12.05pm on Monday, with road users advised to avoid the area.

Traffic Scotland said a diversion of around 154 miles has been put in place.

In a statement on X, they said: “The A82 between Invergloy and Spean Bridge remains closed in both directions due to a serious collision.

“Police, fire and ambulance all remain on scene.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call today at 12.20pm hours to attend a road traffic collision on the A82.

“We have dispatched two ambulances, our critical care team and an air ambulance to the scene.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were contacted at 12.13pm on Monday, July 6 to assist emergency partners on the A82 near Spean Bridge in Lochaber.

“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances to the scene.

“Crews remain in attendance.”
