Residents in Ross and Cromarty were urged to keep their windows and doors closed on Saturday night following a large fire around a quarry.
Emergency services were called to Caplich Quarry in Alness where a farm building caught fire just after 7pm.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service initially sent four trucks to the area and as of Sunday afternoon one remained at the site.
“As a purely precautionary measure residents of Alness and Milnafua are requested to close their windows and doors to stop the smoke entering their homes,” Police Scotland said.
“It’s requested that the public avoid the area for the time being.”
