A project to transform a 140-year-old building on the Isle of Lewis into a new community hub has been officially opened by the Princess Royal.
The £1m project sees the first shop in 18 years in the community of Carloway.
The former primary school has been converted into a modern, fit-for-purpose centre to serve generations to come.
STV NewsA community fundraiser helped rally the funds for the project for the centre which will sell food and drink as well as arts and crafts and will be a central hub for everyone to socialise in.
Those living in the area say it will attract more tourism and foster a better sense of community spirit.
