Residents are experiencing a power outage as firefighters battle a blaze at a neighbouring property in Inverness.
Emergency services were alerted to the fire at a property on St Valery Avenue around 6am on Thursday morning.
Police confirmed that power has been cut for residents on the street while fire services deal with the incident.
The force also said that officers were checking on residents in the area but did not know how long the power would be out for.
Five appliances were dispatched to the property where firefighters were able to extinguish the fire.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that firefighters will remain onsite to ensure the area is safe for residents to return.
It was confirmed that one casualty was treated by the Scottish Ambulance Service but they did not require hospital treatment.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 5.57am on Thursday, 4 January to reports of a dwelling fire in Inverness.
“Operations Control mobilised five fire appliances to the city’s St Valery Avenue, where firefighters have extinguished the fire and currently remain working to make the area safe.
“One casualty was treated at the scene by Scottish Ambulance Service personnel but did not require to be taken to hospital.”
