A teenage boy who died after a three-car crash has been named by police.

Gregor McIntosh, 16, died after the Vauxhall Corsa he was a passenger in was involved in a collision on the A9 in the Highlands.

Sergeant Angus Murray of Police Scotland's road policing unit at Dingwall said: "Our thoughts remain with Gregor's family and friends at this very sad time.

"Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash and we are grateful to the members of the public who have assisted us already.

"I would ask anyone who has information, in particular drivers with dash-cam footage which might help with our investigation to call us."

The crash took place at the junction with the B9161 road around 6.55pm on Friday evening.

A white Nissan Juke and a blue Volkswagen Polo were also involved in the incident, with the driver of the Polo being taking to hospital.
