Police hunt dog walker after man left injured in street attack

The 42-year-old was attacked by a man walking two dogs.

A man has been left injured after being assaulted by a dog walker in the Highlands.

The 42-year-old was on Hartfield Road in Tain, Ross-shire, when he was attacked near to the Cromartie Gardens junction at around 1pm on Friday.

Emergency services attended and the victim was taken to hospital.

Police were also in attendance and officers are now asking for the public’s help as they look to trace the man responsible.

The suspect, described as being in his forties or fifties, is around 5’10 in height with light brown/greying hair.

At the time of the incident he was walking a black and white collie dog and a long haired Jack Russell.

A spokesman for the force said: “Anyone with any information in relation to the incident, or the identity of the male suspect, is asked to contact Police on 101.”
