A person has died after being hit by a train in the Highlands.
Emergency services were called to an area of the line close to Dingwall at around 8.20am on Monday.
Paramedics arrived but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “We were called to an area of the line close to Dingwall at around 8.20am this morning, Monday, August 19, following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Officers attended along with paramedics but sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the Procurator Fiscal.”
