A pedigree sheep worth more than £2500 has gone missing from a farm in the Highlands. 

The Beltex sheep, who is also in lamb and tagged, disappeared from a farm near Cawdor, Nairn between January 6 and 9. 

Beltex sheep, an offshoot of Texel sheep from the Netherlands, are prized for producing lambs for meat.

Police are urging anyone with any information to come forward. 

In a Facebook post, police said: “Should anyone have any information regarding its whereabouts please contact Police Scotland on 101.”
