A pensioner is in a serious condition in hospital after being struck by a car in Inverness.
The 75-year-old man was taken to Raigmore Hospital after being struck by a blue Citroen C1 while walking on Old Perth Road on Sunday.
Medical staff describe his condition as serious but stable.
The female driver of the car was not injured in the incident which occurred at around 5.10pm.
Police closed the road for seven hours while investigations were carried out and diversions were put in place.
Officers are now appealing for information and have urged anyone with information to come forward.
Sergeant Calum MacAuley said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and who saw the crash to contact us.
“I would also appeal to anyone with a dash cam which may hold images that could assist us to get in touch.”
