A woman is fighting for her life in hospital following a three-vehicle crash in the Highlands.
Emergency services were called to the A96 near Auldearn on Friday afternoon around 4.40pm following the collision, involving a black BMW estate, a red Toyota Yaris and a green Toyota Hilux pick-up truck, which was towing a trailer.
A 74-year-old man, a 51-year-old woman and and 74-year-old woman were taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for treatment.
The 74-year-old woman is in a critical condition, while the 51-year-old woman is in a serious but stable condition.
The road was closed while enquiries took place and re-opened around 1am on Saturday.
Sergeant David Miller said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this crash and are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or who was in the area around the time to contact us.
“In particular, if you have dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation, please get in touch.”
