A mountain biker was rescued by volunteers after suffering a head injury in a crash at a nature reserve in the Highlands.
Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team was called to a crash in Abernethy Forest on Saturday afternoon after a biker sustained an injury.
Abernethy National Nature Reserve (NNR) stretches from the River Nethy to the top of Ben Macdui and is the largest surviving remnant of natural Highland pinewood.
The casualty was treated by crews before they were taken to Forest Lodge, where they were handed over to a waiting ambulance crew for further care.
Cairngorm MRT said on Facebook: “We were called out to assist a mountain biker who had sustained a head injury following a crash in Abernethy Forest.
“After locating and assessing the casualty, the team provided initial treatment before transporting them to Forest Lodge, where they were handed over to a waiting ambulance crew for further care.
“We wish the casualty a full and speedy recovery.”
