Missing man's car found 'parked and unattended' at remote loch

Police are increasingly concerned for the welfare of 60-year-old David Bennett.

Missing Highland man’s car found ‘parked and unattended’ at remote Loch Assynt Police Scotland

An urgent search is under way to trace a missing man whose car was discovered in the Highlands parked and unattended.

David Bennett from Tain was last heard from after he was spoken to around 9pm on Sunday, October 23 in the Scotsburn Court area.

The 60-year-old may be travelling in his black Peugeot 2008, registration KJ18 VFU, which has been discovered parked and unattended at Loch Assynt. 

Police are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare, and have asked anyone with information to get in contact.

Police sergeant Harry Milton, of Alness police station, said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of David and would appeal to anyone who may know where he is to contact us. 

“We have issued a photo of David, but it is understood he may not have a beard anymore. 

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1973 of Monday, October 24, 2022.”
