The body of a man has been recovered from the canal in Inverness after the alarm was raised during the early hours on Monday.
Emergency services were called to the Caledonian Canal near the Muirtown Swing Bridge at around 6.50am after reports of a body in the water.
A search operation was launched alongside the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
The body was recovered, and his next of kin has been made aware.
Detectives are not treating the incident as suspicious.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of the body of a man seen in the Caledonian Canal near to the Muirtown Swing Bridge in Inverness around 6.50am on Monday, June 29, 2026.
“He has been recovered with the assistance of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
“His next of kin has been made aware.
“There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
