A man’s body has been found in water near the Isle of Barra.
Officers were called to reports of a body in the water near the Scottish island around 2.35pm on Thursday.
Emergency services attended the scene and the body was recovered from the water.
Police said the death is being treated as “unexplained” and added that enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.35pm on Thursday, October 24, we received a report of a body in the water near the Isle of Barra.
“Emergency services attended, and the body of a man has been recovered.
“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
