A man who died following a one-vehicle crash in Shetland has been named.

Emergency services were called to the scene at Bridge End, near Burra, at around 8.50pm on Thursday evening.

Magnus Sinclair, 83, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family is aware.

The road was closed to allow for crash investigation work to be carried out and reopened around 5.40pm on Friday.

Road Policing Sergeant Neil MacDonald said: “Our thoughts remain with Mr Sinclair’s family and friends at this difficult time.

“I would like to thank the public for their support during our enquiries. We continue to appeal for anyone who witnessed the crash, has dashcam footage with may assist our investigation, or anyone who was in the area at the time and has information about what happened, to come forward.”
