A man who died after a quad bike crash on the Shetland island with the smallest population has been named.
Peter Peterson died following a crash involving a quad bike on Papa Stour around 5.30pm on Friday, July 17.
The 51-year-old was taken to Gilbert Bain Hospital in Lerwick, where he later died.
Papa Stour is the smallest of Shetland’s inhabited islands, with estimates of between six and fifteen people living there.
Road Policing Sergeant Neil MacDonald said: “Our thoughts are with Peter’s family, and they have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash.”
