A man has appeared in court accused of murdering a mother-of-two in her home in Moray.
Kiesha Donaghy was found dead in Anderson Drive, Elgin, on Thursday, November 16 at 7.20pm.
Detectives said the 32-year-old had suffered fatal injuries to her head.
On Thursday, November 30, police arrested a 41-year-old man from Elgin.
Owen Grant appeared at Elgin Sheriff Court on Friday charged with murdering Ms Donaghy.
He made no plea, was committed for further examination and remanded in custody. He is due to appear at court again within eight days.
Detective superintendent Lorna Ferguson, who has been leading Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team, said the force had been supporting Ms Donaghy’s family.
The small, tight-knit community of Elgin has been shocked by the death.
“Kiesha was a popular girl, loved by her friends and family,” DS Ferguson said.
“Lots of friends are clearly concerned and devastated by her death.”
Uniformed officers have been carrying out “reassurance patrols” and police urged anyone with any information to come forward.
