A man has died after a fall near a castle in the Highlands.
Emergency services were called to Keiss Castle, located on the cliffs outside the village of Keiss, after receiving reports of a man who was injured after a fall at around 2.25pm on Wednesday.
The man was transported to Caithness General Hospital, where medical teams later pronounced him dead.
His next of kin have been made aware. Police Scotland has confirmed that emergency services remain on the scene, and an investigation is ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.25pm on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, police received a report of a man injured falling near to Keiss Castle.
“The man was taken to Caithness General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
“Next of kin have been made aware. Emergency services remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing.”
