A man has died in hospital following a crash involving a car and a pickup truck near Aviemore.
Emergency services were called to the A9 near to Lynwilg, on Tuesday, March 5, after the two vehicles collided at around 1.45pm.
A 60-year-old man, the driver of a blue Skoda Octavia, was seriously injured in the crash and airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he was pronounced dead on Thursday.
He has now been named as Roy Bannerman from Evanton.
A 18-year-old man, the driver of a white Toyota Hilux pickup, was taken by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness and has since been released.
Sergeant Calum MacAulay, Roads Policing Unit, Dingwall, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr Bannerman who have requested privacy at this difficult time. We will continue to offer them support as our investigations progress.
“I’d like to thank everyone who has come forward with information so far. We would ask that anyone who saw the vehicles prior to the incident to please get in touch.
“Any piece of information, no matter how small, may be vital to our investigation.”
