A man has died, and two drivers have been taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on the A9 in the Highlands.
The collision, involving a blue Dacia Sandero, a white Iveco lorry, a blue Volkswagen Scirocco and a red BMW X6, happened south of the Cromarty Bridge, at the Culbokie junction with the B9163, at around 8am on Friday.
The driver of the Dacia, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency services took the drivers of the lorry and the Scirocco to Raigmore Hospital for treatment.
The road was closed to allow for enquiries to be carried out and re-opened around 9.20pm.
Sergeant Chris Donaldson, from Dingwall Road Policing, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I would ask anyone who witnessed the crash or the vehicles prior and hasn’t already spoken to officers to contact us.
“I would also ask anyone who was in the area around the time and who may have dash-cam footage that could assist to get in touch.”
