An investigation has been launched following the death of a man died injured at work in Orkney.
The man was seriously injured at a premises in Finstown on Friday, April 5 before being rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he passed away three days later.
The incident was reported to police on Sunday, April 7, with investigations now being carried out into the circumstances of the man becoming injured.
A spokesperson said: “Around 5.40pm on Sunday, April 7, we were made aware of a man having been seriously injured at a premises in Finstown on Orkney on Friday, April 5.
“He had been transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he died during the evening of Monday, April 8, 2024. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
