Man dies after being pulled from loch in early hours following search

Emergency services rushed to Lochindorb near Grantown-on-Spey in the early hours of Thursday morning.

A man has died after being pulled from a Highland loch in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Shortly before 1am, police received a report of a man missing in the water at Lochindorb near Grantown-on-Spey.

Emergency services attended and the man was pulled from the water.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his family have been notified.

The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious by police, however enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.55am on Thursday, August 18, police received a report of a man missing in the water at Lochindorb, Grantown-on-Spey. 

“Emergency services responded and the man was pulled from the water. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his family has been notified.

“Enquiries are ongoing, however, the death is not being treated as suspicious.”
