A man has been charged in connection with possessing explosive substances following a raid on a property in Inverness.

Police vehicles, a bomb disposal squad and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service could be seen in the Anderson Court area of the city on Sunday morning.

Police Scotland said it had been a “pre-planned operation” targetting the address.

A 51-year-old was arrested and is due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Monday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Following a pre-planned operation at an address in Anderson Court, Inverness, a 51-year-old man has been charged in relation to possession of explosive substances.

“He’s due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Monday, September 13.”
