A man has been charged after police negotiators spent more than 24 hours dealing with an incident at a house in Castletown in the Highlands.
The streets surrounding Coronation Place were closed from around 12.25pm on Monday.
The area remained cordoned off into Tuesday while specialist negotiators were on the scene.
The man left the property at around 5.45pm on Tuesday.
Police confirmed a 49-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident.
He is due to appear at Wick Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “A 49-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an incident in Coronation Place, Castletown.
“Around 12.25pm on Monday, November 4, 2024, we were called after concern was raised for a man within a house.
“Officers and negotiators attended and around 5.45pm on Tuesday, November 5, he left the property, and was checked over by paramedics.
“He is expected to appear at Wick Sheriff Court on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.”
