A man taken to hospital after a “disturbance” in Inverness has also been arrested after armed police locked down the city centre.
A large emergency services response was pictured at the scene of Muirtown Street area at around 11.50am on Thursday.
Police confirmed a 56-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and taken to hospital.
There is no wider risk to the public and locals are thanked for their patience, officers said.
The road fully reopened around 6.45pm after being closed with enquiries ongoing.
A Police Scotland statement read: “Around 11.50am on Thursday, May 9, 2024, we were called to a report of a disturbance in the Muirtown Street area of Inverness.
“Emergency services attended and a 56-year-old man was taken to hospital.
“The same man was arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.
“There is no wider risk to the public and locals are thanked for their patience.
“The road fully reopened around 6.45pm.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 12.02pm on Thursday, May 9, to assist emergency service partners at an incident on Muirtown Street, Inverness.
“Operations Control mobilised three appliances to the area.
