A 40-year-old man was waiting at a food van at Belladrum festival when the 'unprovoked' attack was launched.

A man has been arrested and charged over an alleged “unprovoked” attack on a festival goer at the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival in July.

The 40-year-old was standing at a food van in the red camp area at around 10.30pm on Friday, July 29 when he was allegedly assaulted.

He was treated at the first-aid site, before then being transferred to Raigmore Hospital with a serious facial injury.

Police confirmed that a 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

He is due to appear in court at a later date.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
