Police were informed of the shooting on Monday near Grantown-on-Spey.

A man has been arrested after a bird of prey was shot.

The bird was shot near Grantown-on-Spey in the Cairngorms National Park.

Officers received report of the shooting around 11.15am on Monday at the Lochindorb Estate.

Police confirmed the arrest of the 56-year-old man in connection with the incident, he has been released pending further investigation.
