A man has been charged after drugs worth £18,000 were found in a car in Stornoway.
The vehicle was stopped in the town’s Shell Street area at around 8.30pm on Wednesday.
Officers searching the car found a quantity of herbal cannabis with a street value of £18,000.
A 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a drug offence.
He was released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date, and police said a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Chief Inspector Jane MacKenzie said: “Drugs cause misery in our communities and we are committed to disrupting the supply of illegal substances.
