A man and a dog have been rescued by a lifeboat after getting stuck at the bottom of cliffs.
The man followed the animal after it ran down a steep incline at The Knab coastal walk near Lerwick in Shetland, and they were unable to make their way back the same way.
Lerwick RNLI’s all-weather lifeboat went to the scene, and the crew launched in a smaller RIB “daughter” craft to get close to shore and rescue the man and dog.
They were taken back to Lerwick and were said to be safe and well after the experience.
Coastguard rescue teams were also called to the scene during the incident early on Wednesday evening.
