A man has been taken to hospital after being attacked in Inverness.

Emergency services were called to King Street in the city centre around 12.55pm on Saturday.

A 51-year-old man was taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Detective Inspector Craig Thomson said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

“Anyone with any information is asked to get in touch.

“We are also asking anyone with CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage between noon and 1pm in the King Street and Queen Street area to contact us should they find anything which may assist our investigation.”
