A cyclist, who died following a collision involving a pick-up truck in Shetland on Saturday, has been named.
Emergency services were called to the B9074 near Trondra following reports of a colission between a black Ford Ranger and a bicycle at around 10pm.
Victor James Duncan was taken to hospital following the incident. The 51-year-old was pronounced dead a short time later.
His family has described him as a “loving husband and father”.
The road was closed to allow for the crash investigation to be carried out, and was fully reopened more than 19 hours later.
An investigation to establish the full circumstances is ongoing.
Sergeant Ewan Calder said: “My thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr Duncan and we continue to offer support to them.
“I’d like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding while enquiries were carried out. We appreciate this is the main route to and from the south west of the island and there was significant disruption with the closure.
“Our enquiries remain ongoing and I’d ask anyone with information, who has not already spoken to police, to come forward.”
Those with information are urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 3319 of March 21.
