A flight bound for Glasgow was forced to divert to Aberdeen after the aircraft suffered a mid-air emergency.
Passengers onboard the Loganair flight from Sumburgh Airport in Shetland were due to land in Glasgow after 1.30pm on Tuesday but the flight was diverted to Aberdeen less than an hour into the journey.
Data from FlightRadar showed the ATR 42-600 plane making a loop off the coast of Stonehaven and making a Sqwauking 7700 classed as an emergency before landing.
Fire crews sent three trucks to the scene where no casualties were reported.
Loganair, who operated flight LM436, said a precautionary landing was taken following a technical issue.
A spokesperson for Loganair said: “We can confirm Flight LM436 from Sumburgh to Glasgow was diverted to Aberdeen for a precautionary landing following a technical issue.
“The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is of the utmost importance to us.
“Customers were transported to Glasgow by air on an alternative aircraft and we thank them for their patience.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 1.13pm on Tuesday, July 23 to assist partners at Aberdeen Airport, Aberdeen.
“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances to the scene as a precaution.
“There were no casualties, and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
