Forensics remain on the scene nearly four days after a man was found dead following a fire in the Highlands.
Emergency services were called to the property on Victoria Road in Brora at around 9.25pm on Thursday following reports of a blaze.
A man was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported following the incident.
Forensic officers and Scottish Fire and Rescue were pictured on the scene on Monday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.25pm on Thursday, January 22, 2026, we were made aware of a fire at a property in the Victoria Road area of Brora.

“Enquiries are ongoing into the cause of the fire.”
Area Commander Lynne Gow is the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service’s Local Senior Officer for Highland. She said: “We were alerted at 8.59pm on Thursday, January 22, to reports of a dwelling fire at Victoria Road in Brora, Highlands.
“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting a flat within a two-storey block of flats.
“Sadly, one man passed away at the scene.
“Our thoughts are very much with his family, friends, and the wider community at this difficult time.
“A joint investigation alongside Police Scotland is now ongoing.”
