A mountain biker was airlifted to hospital after suffering an injury following a crash in the Cairngorms National Park.
The Cairngorms Mountain Rescue Team attended the scene north of the Ryvoan Bothy after receiving reports of a cyclist suffering from a back/neck injury following a crash on September 21.
A Highland Coastguard helicopter team rerouted to assist the injured cyclist whilst conducting a training exercise in the area, having stopped nearby at Glenmore Lodge to refuel.
The unit managed to land close to the injured mountain biker and transport them away for treatment.
A Facebook post from the Cairngorms Mountain Rescue Team read: “CMRT were called out yesterday afternoon alongside the Scottish Ambulance Service to a mountain biker who had sustained a back/neck injury after crashing.
“The casualty was located north of Ryvoan Bothy. As luck would have it HM Coastguard – Highland Rescue 151 were out training in the area and had landed at Glenmore Lodge to refuel.
“R151 were then able to land on and evacuate the mountain biker. We wish the casualty a speedy recovery, many thanks to all involved.”
