Police in the Highlands are hunting for a fan who threw pyrotechnics onto the pitch at a recent football match.
Referees had to halt Caley Thistle’s match with the Hamilton Accies as a result of the blue smoke bombs on December 13.
Police say an unidentified attendee threw the “highly dangerous” devices onto the pitch from the West Terrace at Caledonian Stadium.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Taking pyrotechnics into a sporting stadium is a criminal offence and highly dangerous.
“Police Scotland takes a zero-tolerance policy and works closely with clubs and the Scottish Professional Football Association to identify troublemakers.
“Enquiries are ongoing to identify the person responsible, and we are now appealing to anybody who has information to come forwards.”
A club spokesperson said: “We are fully supporting the police in their investigation to try to identify the individuals involved.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland directly by calling 101, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers quoting crime reference CR/0523366/25.
