Residents were forced to leave their homes after an early morning fire broke out in Inverness.
Four fire engines and a height appliance were sent to the scene in Tomatin Road just after 2am on Thursday.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said that firefighters extinguished the blaze but remained on the scene at 11am.
Police said investigations are under way.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Emergency services are in attendance and a number of residents have been evacuated.
“Tomatin Road is closed and inquiries into the cause of the fire are ongoing.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted at 2.03am on Thursday, July 11, to reports of a fire at a flat at Tomatin Road, Inverness.
“Operations Control mobilised four appliances and a specialist height appliance to the scene, where crews extinguished the fire.
“Firefighters remain in attendance.”
