A hillwalker was rescued after falling 200m while climbing a Munro in the Highlands.

Killin Mountain Rescue Team volunteers were deployed to Ben More near Crianlarich on Sunday to aid the stricken walker.

The casualty sustained upper body injuries after falling 200m, rescuers said.

Team members located the casualty with the help of two other walkers as weather conditions “deteriorated”.

Due to the worsening conditions, the Coastguard helicopter rescue and Scottish Ambulance Service were unable to assist on the hill but remained on standby at lower ground.

Once located, the casualty was assessed by medical technicians on the team, extracted by foot and transferred to the Scottish Ambulance Service.

Killin Mountain Rescue Team said rescues at this time of year can be “complex and challenging”.

The rescue happened in the aftermath of Storm Eowyn, which saw a red warning issued on Friday and disruption continuing into the weekend.
