Hillwalker found dead on Highland mountain range

A hillwalker has been found dead on the An Teallach mountain range in the Highlands.

Police Scotland said it received a report of concern for a hillwalker on An Teallach in Dundonnell at around 12pm on August 10.

The Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team and Police Mountain rescue teams attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is not believed there are any suspicious circumstances, and his next of kin have been informed.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12pm on Monday, August 10, 2026, we were called to a report of concern for a hillwalker on An Teallach, Dundonnell.

“The Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team and officers from Police Mountain Rescue teams attended however the man was pronounced dead. His next of kin are aware.

“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
