A cyclist is in hospital with serious injuries following a crash with a car on a rural road in the Highlands.

The collision took place near Mains of Bunachton, in Dunlichity, just before 1pm on Monday, January 30.

The 59-year-old cyclist was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, where staff described her injuries as “serious”.

The occupants of the Dacia Sandero car were uninjured in the incident, and police are now appealing for information.

Police Scotland road policing sergeant Calum MacAulay said: “Although this is a rural road, it is still frequently used, so we are urging anyone who witnessed the collision to please come forward.”

Police have asked anyone with information which could be relevant, or who has dash-cam footage, to get in contact on 101, quoting incident 1416 of January, 30 2023.”
