A local authority is taking action against anti-social urban gulls causing major disruption in the Highlands.
Highland Council says enough is enough after a report found the birds are keeping elderly care home residents awake, and swooping on schoolchildren to grab food.
Some primary schools in Inverness have even banned children from eating snacks in the playground due to gull attacks.
It is thought there are around 700 gull nesting sites in and around Inverness, with access to bins and fast food attracting the birds away from traditional habitats.
In a bid to tackle the issue, the local authority has received £20,000 from NatureScot to implement a range of measures, including gull-proof bins.
Councillors will discuss the issue next week, and it is hoped the scheme can, in time, encourage the birds to swap the city for the sea once more.
